The City of Loganville is accepting applications for the position of Sergeant EMT I/A.  This is skilled work in fire prevention, fire extinguishing and rescue activities.  Responds to emergency calls for fire suppression, medical assistance, hazardous materials incidents, motor vehicle accidents and other emergency situations.  Must be able to learn firefighting techniques and procedures quickly and thoroughly, must learn rules and regulations of the department and be able to understand and follow detailed oral instructions.  Must work well under pressure and learn assigned territory.

Qualifications: Completion of  High School Diploma or GED; 18 years of age. Possess valid driver’s license; satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (7 year MVR you provide).

Licenses, Certificates and other Requirements: Current Georgia Basic Firefighter Certification/NPQ II. Apparatus Engineer. State of Georgia EMT-I/A. NPQ HazMat Ops & Awareness.  CPR certified.  NIMS 100, 200, 700 and 800.  Arson Awareness. 

Must complete: Satisfactory criminal history (no felony convictions within last 10 years). Applicant must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment written test, physical agility test, and drug screen test.
